SWECHHA : We for change

From Swechha

Swechha is a Delhi-based non-governmental organization that was launched in the year 2000 as the “We for Yamuna” campaign. Within months, “We for Yamuna” shaped up as one of the strongest voices on Yamuna in Delhi. The campaign eventually transformed into a full-fledged NGO. The organization today covers a wide gambit of work, spanning over ecological, civic and policy level issues-striving to build awareness and advocacy among students, civil society groups, corporate and the media.

Over the years since its inception, the NGO has organized a number of programmes such as Circus for Change, Yamunotsav and Yamuna Shramdaan to highlight the issues of this river.

From swechha

The NGO team comprising of Sunny, Amrita and other core members visited the college campus on Tuesday and addressed the students on issues of education, environment, life skills and citizenship. The session was a great success in sensitizing the students about matters that demand our utmost attention to create a better, cleaner and healthier society.
